We provide the following tree and woodland services:
Crown Thin
Crown thinning is the removal of a percentage of the branch structure without changing the outline of the tree.
Crown thins are usually conducted to allow more light to pass through tree but may also be conducted to reduce the sail area of vulnerable trees or to reduce water uptake. Heavier limbs may also be removed during this operation providing the form of the tree is not damaged or the tree is left in an unbalanced shape. It is also an opportunity to remove dead, dying, diseased, rubbing or crossing limbs.
Crown Lift

Trimming trees with lift
Crown lifting is the removal of the lowest branches of the tree to give a uniform height above ground level. This practice reveals a clear stem which is often more pleasing to the eye. Common reasons for crown lifting are to bring more light under the tree and to give access to vehicles and pedestrians. Clearance for vehicles is 5.2 metres (17 feet), and for pedestrians 2.5m (8 feet).
Crown Reduction
Crown reduction is used to reduce the height and/or the spread of the crown of the tree. This is generally conducted for aesthetic reasons but may be carried out to remove dead wood, “stag horns”, at the top of a mature tree.
Dismantling
Dismantling is the controlled removal of a tree where felling is not an option due to surrounding buildings, fences and valuable property. This is where the skill of the climbing arborist comes to the fore as heavy limbs will frequently require careful lowering by rope.
Felling

Section felling
Traditional felling techniques are not routinely used at domestic premises as damage to the ground or plants is rarely acceptable. Sometimes in the case of dangerous or heavily leaning trees a winch can be used to pull the tree in a controlled direction.
Veternisation
This is the process of helping nature to reduce an over mature, dying tree, under control. Dying trees can shed heavy limbs with potentially disastrous consequences. Veteranisation speeds up the process of nature whilst minimising risk. Dead and dying trees are usually important habitats for mammals, birds and insects and can often be retained at a reduced risk to the land owner or general public.
Debris removal
Depending on the nature of the tree, location and available access tree debris is removed by trailer or by reduction into small chips in a wood chipping machine. We pride ourselves on always leaving your premises in a clean and tidy condition.
Roadside work
We are fully insured and qualified to work at the sides of roads. Traffic can be controlled with road signs to provide a safe working area for our operators, the general public and your premises in accordance with current street work regulations.
Waterside work
Working safely in and around water can present some major safety challenges. We have two boats to assist with this type of work, which are equipped with life jackets.
Treescaping
Many homes and commercial premises in Ireland now have large expanses of green areas sourrounding them. We provide a consulting, design, selection and planting service, specialising in the use of trees in the design for shorth, medium and long term impact.
Traditional Hedge Laying, restoration and planting
We carry out traditional hedge laying for all clients including farmers under the AEOS scheme. We can also tackle hedges which have got out of hand and restore them back to health.
We also plant and establish new hedges.
Tree Surveys
A professional appraisal of Trees on a site, identifying species, dimensions, location, structural condition, physical health and Tree management & retention recommendations.
